We study the owner's building information needs, facility management priorities, existing FM information systems, and day-to-day building information workflow.

We work with design and construction teams to understand their workflow and building information systems.

We then develop a Facility Information Specification that defines the scope of building information needed for facility management, the owner's preferred naming conventions for building components, and a progressive data delivery schedule that parallels the design and construction schedule. 

Compile.

We compile building information from design and construction models, other construction documents, and construction submittals to create information-rich Facility Management Building Information Models (FM BIMs).

We format our FM BIMs for direct information exchange with the owner's
FM information systems; no laborious, error-prone rekeying of data is required.

We leverage the building information created by design and construction teams. We do not add to their workload or require that they alter their existing design and construction processes.

Validate.

Building owners need assurance that building information imported into their FM information systems is complete and correct.

We validate all building information at three stages in our BIM2FM process:

  • when first created or added to an
       FM BIM;
a
  • after export from the FM BIM and
        prior to import into the owner's FM
        system;
a
  • after import into the owner's FM system.
